2. Warranty & Receipts

Your receipt is more than just a piece of paper - it’s your proof of purchase and your key to aftercare, warranty, and exchanges. Below you’ll find all the information you need to understand our policies and make the most of your jewellery purchase.

Why is my receipt important?

Your receipt is proof of purchase and must be presented for refunds, exchanges, or warranty claims. Without it, we cannot process your request.

Do I need the payment copy as well?

Yes. For refunds or exchanges, please provide the original receipt along with the payment copy. All refunds will be processed using the same method as the original payment. We cannot refund to a different cardholder or offer cash refunds. Please have your card and all relevant details on hand to ensure your refund is processed smoothly.

What does the warranty cover?

We provide a 12-month manufacturing warranty on all jewellery. This covers defects in workmanship but does not include normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or loss.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Contact Sonny’s directly with your original receipt. We’ll assess the issue and advise on repair or replacement options under the warranty.

Can I insure my jewellery?

Yes — insurance can be purchased separately within 2 weeks of your purchase. Please contact us directly for guidance and options tailored to your jewellery.

What do I need to collect my jewellery?

Jewellery can only be collected with the original receipt or a valid ID matching the name on the receipt. This ensures security and protects your purchase.

4. Jewellery Care & Guidance

Your jewellery is crafted to last a lifetime. Here you’ll find expert guidance on caring for your treasured pieces. For more in-depth information on each step, visit our blog to learn how to maintain and enjoy your jewellery safely.

How should I care for yellow gold jewellery?

Yellow gold is durable but can scratch over time - this is normal. Store pieces separately in their original pouches or boxes. For gentle cleaning at home, use Connoisseurs cleaning products, following instructions carefully.  For more detailed guidance, see our blog.

How should I care for white gold?

White gold is rhodium-plated for extra brilliance, which can wear off over time. Wipe with a soft cloth and avoid harsh chemicals. Periodically, we recommend professional re-plating. Read more in our blog.

How should I care for platinum jewellery?

Platinum is naturally durable, but scratches are normal. Clean with mild soap and water or Connoisseurs products. For polish or deep cleaning, visit one of our stores. More details are in our blog.

How should I care for silver jewellery?

Silver can tarnish over time. Store in dry, airtight pouches and avoid moisture and chemicals. Clean gently using Connoisseurs silver care products. Learn more in our silver jewellery guide.

How can I care for clasps, settings, and fixtures?

Regularly check prongs, clasps, and fastenings for wear or looseness. Avoid pulling or twisting chains. While we strive for security, metal fatigue can occur over time. Contact us for advice or repair - we’re here to ensure your jewellery remains safe and wearable.

How should I care for diamonds?

Diamonds are extremely hard, but they can chip or break under impact. Clean gently at home with Connoisseurs products and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals and excessive force. For sparkle restoration or safety checks, contact Sonny’s. For full details, see our diamond care post.

How should I care for coloured gemstones?

Gemstones vary in hardness and sensitivity. Avoid heat, chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners unless stated safe for your stone. Clean gently at home with Connoisseurs products and mild soap. For questions or professional servicing, contact us - we’ll guide you on the safest approach. Learn more in our gemstone care guide.

What is the best general cleaning routine?

  1. Wipe jewellery with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear.
  2. Clean at home using Connoisseurs cleaning products or mild soap and warm water.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing.
  4. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals.
  5. Remember: all jewellery will show signs of wear over time - scratches on metal are normal, and even diamonds or gemstones can chip if impacted.

For best results, we recommend regular professional cleaning and inspection. Contact us anytime for expert advice or service.
