Dragon Boat Racing - Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity
In the year 2023, the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) staff, NAJ members, and colleagues from the British Allied Trades Federation (BATF) demonstrated their unwavering commitment to philanthropy by actively participating in the annual Birmingham Dragon Boat Race. This collective effort symbolises the strength of community unity in the pursuit of a noble cause - raising essential funds for The Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity.
As the team "Paddles of Fury", comprised of a formidable group of 19 individuals, expertly navigated the intricate waterways of Birmingham city, they effectively demonstrated their exceptional paddling skills and an unwavering competitive spirit. The results of their determined endeavours were profound, as the generous support of the NAJ membership culminated in the remarkable achievement of raising a substantial £9,000 on the day. This significant contribution played a pivotal role in bolstering the overall event total, which amounted to an impressive £259,000.
Sonny's Jewellers takes immense pride in its role as part of a consortium of businesses that united to champion this cause and create a tangible positive impact on the lives of local children in the community. This collaborative effort epitomises our commitment to corporate social responsibility and our dedication to the well-being of the community we serve.
Secret Supper - Parkinson's Support
The Secret Supper was an event held in Birmingham in 2019, 2021, and 2022, with the primary purpose of raising funds to support individuals affected by Parkinson's disease. This remarkable event featured the participation of six prestigious restaurants, creating a unique and delightful dining experience for its guests.
One of the distinctive elements of the Secret Supper was the element of surprise, as attendees would visit a different restaurant for each course, only discovering their dining destination on the night of the event. This added an air of excitement and novelty to the overall experience.
Notably, for three consecutive years, Sonny's Jewellers proudly served as the welcome drink sponsor, demonstrating our commitment to the cause and our dedication to making a meaningful impact within our community. In addition to our role as a welcome drink sponsor, we also contributed a Signed Football shirt as a coveted prize for the Silent Auction activity during the most recent Secret Supper in 2022.
Our active involvement in this remarkable event reflects our deep-rooted values of philanthropy and community support, and we remain steadfast in our mission to contribute to the well-being of those affected by Parkinson's disease.
